My nephew, August Joseph (Joey) Diener, V, passed into the beyond yesterday at the age of 19. Despite all our counsel, our family's love, and prayer we could not keep this young man earthbound. His mother, my baby sister, Erica, had to make the most agonizing decision a parent can ever make. We admire her strength and lend her ours in the days, months, and years to come without him by her side. There will forever be an empty chair at our table and a moment of silence with eyes raised upward at family gatherings. We miss and mourn a life lost too soon, and all that might have been. To ease the burden of final expenses friends and family are asked to give what they can in Joey's memory. Thank you in advance for your kindness and understanding at this most difficult time.

Latest Update

It has been over three weeks since Joey has been gone. It's supposed to get easier as time goes on, but every day that goes by, I seem to miss him more. I was able to cover the cost of his beautiful memorial service and burial with everyone's generosity. Thank you so very much! This is the most difficult time in my life right now and this was a huge burden lifted off my shoulders. I still need help to cover the cost of his grave marker. I am not asking those who gave to give again. I am hoping that you will share my story with others.

We had Joey's memorial service yesterday. I am amazed by how many people came to celebrate the life of my amazing son. I have been overwhelmed by the amount of love and support my family and I have received. Thank you to everyone for allowing me to memorialize Joey the way he would have wanted.

Thank you for all of your support. After just over 24 hours we are 27% funded. If you could continue to spread the word to help my sister with expenses, it would be greatly appreciated.
