Make Your Own!

This fundraiser is for our furry and feathered pack, which are all seniors now and all experiencing significant health issues at the same time. We have had a significant change in our lifestyle due to a job loss and two moves and are experiencing difficulties meeting these medical challenges! Let me introduce the furkids and then I will tell you how you can help them.
Meet Sarah, our 12 year old Australian Cattle Dog, who came from a shelter and we adopted through a rescue. Sarah is hypothyroid and has spay incontinence and takes medication daily for both. She also is going blind from a degenerative retina disease. Her biggest issue right now, however, is a growth on her eyelid and one on her behind. She had a biopsy on her eyelid, a CT Scan and bloodwork to determine there was no cancer but after spending $1,800.00 we still haven't found out what it IS. We decided to start conservatively with steroid injections into the eyelid. The tumor on her anus has to come off before it infiltrates the colon wall and causes bowel incontinence. Our quote for that surgery and a long overdue dental is another $1,000.00.
Zack, our 13 y.o. Jack Russell Terrier was a rescue from a backyard breeder. He loves tummy rubs, chasing squirrels and is a total "mamas boy". In Oct 2017 I ran to the store for fifteen minutes and I came back to a terrier with a ruptured ACL. We pursued conservative management and he has recovered but is in need of Physical Therapy still. He also has a little benign growth on his foreleg that needs removing since he keeps licking at it (shown in photos).
Then there is Evie, our 14 y.o. tabby cat who was also rescued - from a kill shelter. Besides being a good indoor mouse catcher (but only plays with them), she loves to beat up on Zack and Sarah when they misbehave! Evie is the best cat ever and sleeps under the covers with her humans and keeps them warm on cold winter nights. When we did her senior blood panel we found the reason for her significant weight loss - she is hyperthyroid. We started her on the inexpensive medication but she turned out allergic to it and tore her own face up (shown in photos). She is using a special food but will need to get the $1400.00 Gold Standard treatment - Radioactive Iodine - to cure her of this condition.
We also have four rescued parrots: 2 Congo African Greys: Rebel - a 21 year old male and Pepper - a 9 year old female; and a Senegal: Kiwi - our newest addition who is 10 years old; and my oldest boy, Peaches - a Peach Front Conure, who is 22+ years. We need to get all their bloodwork and exams and if we are lucky enough to surpass our goal we would like to get that done.
If you have read this far along... Here is how you can help. Please consider donating any amount to help us get the proper care for our fur & feather kids. So far I have put all the costs on my credit card but it's within $200 of being maxed out. If you can only afford $5.00 (the cost of one fancy coffee/latte) you can help fund their surgeries and treatments! And, if you are unable to help financially, please share our fundraiser on all your social media platforms and get the word out for us. The further you help us spread the word, the higher the algorithms will keep our page! When donating, please remember to choose the option to give money to "family & friends" to save on the fees we have to pay via PayPal! Thank you. Anyone who gives over $10.00 will receive a personalized thank you note from us and we promise to keep everyone updated with news and photos as we go along... Thank you for any help you can give!!!

Sarah has a vet appointment tomorrow for a 2nd opinion and to see if we can get the same treatments at less cost. Wish us luck! If the results are the same we will stick with our regular vet and her surgery is already scheduled for May 10th so I can stay home from work and be there while she recovers for for 4 days.
