Funders and partners of Capital City Cats (CCC) work to treat, fix, and re-home animals in the Pierre area. We recognize the problems inherent to stray animals in a community & believe that the problem must be addressed by treating non-terminal diseases, spaying/neutering each animal, and finding homes for them.
Every cat that the Capital City Cats (CCC) helps incurs around $200-$250 worth of expenses, just for basic treatment and neutering/spaying. This includes an examination and testing for feline HIV and leukemia, we then make sure that the cat or kitten is given all basic immunizations and dewormed before getting them fixed.
For nearly a year a small group of amazing, selfless people have been paying for the treatment and the neutering/spaying of kittens and cats impounded by the City of Pierre, as well as and homing them, both temporarily and permanently. There have been ups and downs, and we are thankful for the efforts of both the CCC network, local veterinarians, city employees, and everyone involved with the city's impound process to find a solution to the stray animal problems in Pierre.
