Melissa and Victor, the sweetest neighbors, friends, and social justice advocates, are also some of the best pet-parents that Birmingham Alabama has ever known. In February 2016 their pup Jaco Pupstorius had a mysterious illness and needed to be taken to the emergency vet. His diagnosis went from a spinal cord infection, to a slipped disc, and many other possibilities in between, but nothing was ever definitive. Luckily, with a few days in the doggie hospital and lots of treatments Jaco has improved, gone home and is doing much better. However, his medical expenses were very high and Victor and Melissa could use the help of the community to cover at least some of these costs.
