Save Achilles
My wonderful dog Achilles was shot in the face today by my neighbor. This was senseless, and unwarranted, and now I am trying to take care of my dog. He is currently at Dove Lewis and heading into surgery. I am going to save this dog and I am reaching out to my friends and family - please help.

Today is Achilles RE-birthday!!!!!! 1 year ago today Kik almost lost his life because of an ignorant s.o.b. Achilles has underwent 4 additional surgeries to remove shrapnel and remaining pieces of bone. Today Achilles is thriving and living life to the fullest thanks to HIS angels. I have so many people to thank for his life. MY life would not be the same. He is now in training with me to become my medical assistant dog. I couldn't ask for a better dog/companion/friend!!!!!! Thank you all for helping to save his life:-)

Friday's update: Achilles is healing so well! I finally got a good look at his teeth. By some miracle, he only lost his Left upper canine (more will have to come out as the mandible bone heals), 2 small upper left side teeth, and 1/2 of his lower left canine (the rest will need to be removed soon as the root is exposed). He is by far one of the luckiest dogs I know. Thanks to my wonderful friend, Amy, we now have signs!!! They are perfect. I will post pictures hopefully tomorrow.

So sorry what happened to your dog. God bless you all. Can you press charges?
I took Achilles to the vet today. Just to check some loose stitches. He is healing beautifully!!!! The stitches are starting to dissolve in his mouth. Bad news: WE have a lot of work ahead of us. Achilles has some PTSD. Men in particular. He wants to protect ME from them. I have met some very understanding and loving men. They will sit on the floor and be near me just to show Achilles it ok...

I am so blessed for all of your donations!!!! I hit $3000 for his bill yesterday. This doesn't even include all of his follow up appointment or his dental surgeries that he will need to help correct the damage that Achilles sustained due to the monster, Harry Coultas!!!

I am so blessed for the outpouring of support. Both financially and emotionally!!! As of last night, Achilles' Bill passed the $3000 Mark.

A short update today. We, Achilles and I, are exhausted today. Our first day back at the barn. Achilles spent 98% of the time convfiscated to the vehicle. He LOVED all the attention he got!

Today's update: Achilles received his first 2 Cold Laser Therapy treatments. Within 5 minunutes, almost all the swelling in his upper lip disappeared! I am so lucky to have my amazing friend, Marci, donate her time and her machine for these treatments. He will have his next round in a week.

Not as swollen tonight. Still heavily medicated to keep the pain manageable. I can't handle hearing g my boy whimper.

Thursday update: He was shot in the upper lip. It hit the left upper canine tooth. The bullet exploded from there. They reconstructed is upper hard pallet. He has remaining shrapnel in his outer sinus wall, pallet, and tongue. This is the bullet entry wound.

After 14 hours, he is home in my bed!!! We still have a LONG way to go. I'm hoping the worst (for him) is long over.
