Hi!
My name is Chanah Rose Seta, I am 16 years old, and I am a senior in high school graduating in June. Why am I graduating high school at such a young age? The answer to this question is that, when I attended a private Christian school, my state testing scores were high enough for me to skip eighth grade a go directly into high school. It was very interesting attending a Christian school as a Messianic Jew because I was different than everyone else; however, attending this school allowed me to grow in my Jewish identity. Instead of shying away from everyone's questions like "why don't you celebrate Christmas," or "why don't you eat bacon," I decided instead to invite all of my friends over every year for the Biblical feasts that I have grown up celebrating so that they would understand more about who I am and why I am seemingly so different than everyone else. Once I reached 11th grade, I transferred to a dual-credit charter school where I currently have a full college schedule and am studying to be a computer engineer (I love math, and it is my favorite subject. It's not easy, but it's wonderfully challenging.). Being a senior in high school, I was in the process of applying for universities, one of these being Technion in Haifa Israel. A recruiter from Technion contacted me and encouraged me to apply for a program called Haifa Teen Tech. I love Israel, I know that it is my home, and it is my desire to be there, and so I decided to apply. I am currently in the top 3% of my graduating class, and this being an extremely selective program (only 35 students are accepted internationally) I knew that this was vital to my acceptance. I was told that I needed two letters of recommendation from STEM teachers to be considered for acceptance. Since my academic situation is quite unique, I do not have high school teachers, instead I have college professors. After telling my chemistry and calculus professors about this extraordinary opportunity, they both wrote letters of recommendation for me. Now, it is my pleasure to announce that today (3/18/19), I have officially been accepted to the Haifa Teen Tech Program, and (if I can raise the funds needed) I will be in Israel at the Haifa Teen Tech Program mid-July. I am unable to pay for this program on my own, and so I am asking for your help to get me to Israel and complete this program that I have worked so hard for. My goal is to raise $2900; the cost of tuition is $1100, the cost of airline tickets is $1200, and the cost of room and board is $600. If I can attend this program, I may be able to get a head start on my career goal which is to move to Israel and be a software developer there.
Thank you so much for your help - it truly means the world to me,
Chanah Rose Seta
P.S. Here is some more info about the program
"This initiative is aimed to expose young technological entrepreneurs to the advantages of the state of Israel and of the city of Haifa as a scientific and technological world center. Young, willing, highly motivated boys and girls that have “what it takes” to confront face to face with cutting edge digital technology may take part in this endeavor. The journey to Israel and the participation in the competition will be the beginning of an ongoing, intellectual and emotional bond. Those who will chose to participate will be exposed to the very best of minds in Israel, the ones that made it what is known today as the start-up nation."

That’s so cool. I just participated in a hackathon at my main client in San Diego... ended up doing an iOS app that had some augmented reality functionality. Lots of fun... hope the experience is great for you, and will be very interested to hear about the project you end up working on!
