Hello friends and family! I have great news, and with it, a favor to ask.
For about 15 years, I have had the pleasure of working at the Florida Karate Academy. There, I have made connections with, learned from, and taught many wonderful people, and through lots of hard work and dedication, was also able to earn a 3rd degree black belt. My karate family has grown over the years, and I couldn't be happier!
As some of you know, I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer a few years ago. Though we went through many challenges, I am more than happy to say that I am a survivor and have been cancer free for 3 1/2 years now. Karate has helped me through the recovery process, as have the people I worked and trained with in my loving Karate family.
All of the hard work is paying off, because I am excited to announce that I have qualified for the WUKF World Championship after winning the Gold Metal in Kata at the AAU National Karate Tournament! The WUKF World Championship will be held in Dundee, Scotland in June 2018. It is an amazing opportunity and a chance to travel, compete, and learn from the best!
This trip will cost about $4,000 in total. This will include the airfare, meals, and lodging as well as the entrance fee to the Championship and all coaching needed to get me there.
I have had so much incredible support in the past, and I would like to reach out again to see if you would be able to help me participate in the WUKF World Championship. This is a rare opportunity, and one I do not want to let pass me by. Thank you for any and all help; I would not be able to do this without you!
