Well folks, we made it to Germany! As planned, we're living and studying (the kids in kindergarten as well) in Tübingen, located in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, in southwest Germany. Next semester, we'll be moving to the city of Ulm, home of the largest Munster in the world and birthplace of Albert Einstein! There, I will study at Hochschule Ulm and take courses in Mechanical Engineering.

We have been blessed with donations, scholarships, and grants; without them this would not be possible. Having said that, we are still struggling to stay on top of our budget. We've encountered some unexpected expenses, more than I had anticipated, and are trying to absorb the blow. Fortunately, nobody is hungry and we do have excellent healthcare coverage here. We'd like to remind you during this lovely time of the year to keep the McKinney family in mind when you are feeling generous and must scratch those philanthropic itches!

We have compiled a list of things you could sponsor, if your heart truly desires. From things such as: health care premiums (from only 1 person up to 4 people), grocery trips, a Kindergarten payment (extremely affordable), an article of Winter clothing, or any miscellaneous expense, we would be and ARE incredibly grateful for your help. None of this would be possible if it wasn't for people like you.

We will be keeping a blog of our travels with photos, video, and journal entries. Watch your contributions change our lives forever!

Thank You!!

-Morgan, Anthony, Ezra, and Asher

  • Anthony McKinney5 years ago Hey everybody, how's it going? Everything is going great so far. I am 1/3 of the way through my Prepatory Language Program. I'm currently living in Dettingen, which is a small village in the vicinity of Horb am Neckar. Once I'm done here, I will then meet Morgan and the boys at the Stuttgart airport on Sunday Sept 16, and take them to their new home! I will barely be seeing our new home at the same time, so it'll be new for all of us. Then, we'll have 1 month to travel and get settled in. Morgan will start a German language course which meets twice a week (great for beginners) and both of the boys will be starting at their daycare/kindergartens at the beginning of the semester. Thank you everybody for helping us make this a reality!

  • Anthony McKinney5 years ago Thanks so much everybody for your contributions so far! I've received some great news recently: I got a scholarship from the Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) organization, a real game changer! In addition to your help, all of this will be possible. Thanks so much again, and stay tuned for updates. We are going to get Morgan and the boys' passports very soon here!

Latest Update

Things are going incredibly well for us. We received a couple of scholarship award emails recently, adding an extra $3000 to our budget. We are still pushing and trying to sell stuff/work extra to save up as much possible. We are going to be able to get the residency permit for sure at this rate! Thanks Everybody!
