Meet Glendon, a 31 year old who lives in a small village in Southern Trinidad. Glendon has cerebral palsy. He cannot walk or talk, but communicates and shows affection with his great big laugh. Glendon is loved and cared for by his father, Noriga, and his sister, Giselle. Glendon is fortunate to have a wonderful and loving family who do all that they can for him, but living in a remote area limits access to support. So, we are asking everyone to contribute to help fund a reclining wheelchair so he can make weekly visits to the organic farm (One Family Farm), the beach, and friends and families' homes.

Your gift not only goes to the purchase of the reclining wheelchair; Glendon will also also receive a new pad for his adjustable bed, a dentist visit, and a year's supply of pampers. Everything will be delivered by February 2016. We are truly grateful for your contribution and will certainly update you on all of Glendon's new experiences in his "freedom chair."

Latest Update

Hi Everyone, Here is a list of items ordered so far! Glendon's reclining wheelchair, Diapers, wipes, soap, wash clothes, pillows, and a few farm tools. The family has priced out the dentist visit and we have set aside a fund for that. Money has already been sent to buy a new oven for the family. We are hoping to also get a proper septic tank to replace the outhouse. Miguella, Marlene, Giselle, Noriga, One family farm and I all thank you so much for making this happen. We are so grateful and so touched by your generosity. Happy Holidays! We will send pictures soon. LOVE

I met Glendon during my most recent trip to Trinidad this past February. I wanted to share my condolences for the loss of Noriga's wife, Veta. What transpired was a beautiful day of memories. Noriga and his daughter, Giselle, made a delicious meal of local fish and provisions. I played with the children in the family and explored beautiful and pastoral Moruga. Noriga and his family became my family that day. Glendon was in his bed when I visited. We only shared brief moments together as there was no means for him to gallivant as I am often prone to do. When I visit Trinidad in February, I hope to see him out and about in his new chair to gallivant across beautiful Moruga with me. What a difference a chair will make in his life and his family's lives; a means for them to gallivant and share in beautiful memories together as one.
