Nelson Mandela states that “Education is the most powerful weapon that can be used to change the world.” Through education, we gain knowledge and skills essential to living a meaningful and successful life. Education opens doors to opportunities for better prospects in a career and economic growth. It awakens our hidden talents and skills that earn us employment and secure our future. Lack of education due to financial constraints may hinder an individual from achieving new heights in life and obtaining social and economic prosperity.
My name is Sondra and I am a third-year student at American Public University pursuing a BA in Criminal Justice. The past three years have not been easy as I struggled with financial aid issues which take away from concentrating on my studies. Despite my financial hardship, I managed to maintain good performance throughout the years with a GPA of 3.57. I value my education; I have maxed out my financial aid and am unable to start my new semester. I have applied for loans with outside lenders only to be denied. I am now afraid that I may not successfully complete my college education due to financial constraints; yet, it is my bridge to greater heights.
I am an older student 48 years old, raised one son who is 22 and living on his own. I immediately enrolled in college to follow my dream. I struggle tirelessly to cater for basic needs including housing, food, and clothing.
I am seeking to obtain financial assistance to successfully complete my college education I believe that by completing my college course, I will be qualified adequately to effectively perform various tasks. Education is a significantly important tool to everyone as it enhances living a better life. It offers a setting for acquiring knowledge essential for growth, career development, problem-solving and advancement in the society.
