A Music School Giving the Gift of music to the underprivileged in Mombasa Kenya Africa.
As part of its mission, Nyali Music school & Centre in Mombasa runs programs on piano, vocals, drumming, individual music classes and volunteer programs to combat anxiety and help children to overcome their experiences of poverty!.
“Sometimes, you see the children come in the morning. You look at them and they are sad,” says Mr Omolo, who founded the Music school. “But when they start playing & singing, everybody gets excited. They start dancing and laughing. I think it’s the best gift to give the children.”Mr Omolo set up the school using money he had raised while performing at the hotels in Mombasa. He started with only one small electronic keyboard and just a few recorders and a old guitars he had bought with his savings.
Currently, the schools serves both the privileged and under-privileged. Mr Omolo, found a local sponsor from Kenya, Mr Ranjit Sondhi who gave the school premises to us his hotel, helped Joshua with the venue ! Mr Omolo, would like to have volunteers who could travel to Kenya to teach music since there is not many who could teach many instruments there.
The school's big challenge is the lack of funds for overhead & instruments to meet the demand to help students to enroll and learn!
We are asking anyone that has a musical instrument that is willing to donate it. To please contact us. (423)605-6889 also anyone that can help with overhead cost, shipping of container. import taxes. maintenance etc. to please donate to this fund !
God Bless all of you!
