Hey everyone my name is Drew, I am a college graduate originally from northern Virginia. I like the majority of the recent college graduates have been faced with a dilemma. I am $40,000 in debt and stuck with working low paying jobs that will never get me to where I want to be. After I graduated I thought it would be a great idea to move out to Las Vegas and make money in the service industry. I made the 3 day drive all the way from South Carolina where I graduated school with my girlfriend. Coming out here I thought that the streets were paved with gold and that people were making tens of thousands of dollars working in the service industry. Unfortunately I was dead wrong, I came out here to find out that it is nearly impossible to get a decent job working in a restaurant or a hotel unless you know somebody or you join the Union, which takes time and money. I have now lived in Las Vegas for over a year. I am dead broke, can't pay my bills let alone my student loans and my family and girlfriend are losing faith in me. I am on the computer everyday filling out applications for entry level positions in my career and get nothing back. I spend a good portion of my day in a suit walking from hotel to hotel and restaurant to restaurant looking to see if anyone is hiring with no luck. I want to move and find a real job and eventually go to graduate school but I am financially stuck. I hate it here in Vegas and so does my girlfriend. I want to move and get started with my career and a better life. I would greatly appreciate your help.
