New Start!

I need your help please. There was no Christmas for me and no celebrating New Years. All I can do as I sit here thinking today is to vow to find a way to change things in this new year. I am injured and still unable to work. With a severe back disability and more recently, an injured thumb and wrist that is not healing due to continual activity, I am unable to work at any of my usual venues for income, making jewelry, teaching dance, pet sitting, and cannot even do what is necessary to pack my house in preparation to move... again. I must move myself and my animals to a less expensive and better fenced home and yard that is not falling apart in need of repairs.

I have rescued many dogs and cats as an independent rescuer who can't stand to see an animal suffering if I believe I can help in some way. Some I did with the help of others. Most I did on my own. I rarely took in donations at the time and have paid for most of it myself or with the help of family. Occasionally I get supplies or a few bucks but all in all it has cost a great deal. Animals just don't get saved for free. All of these dogs and cats have gone into adoptive homes or in the case of a few are still with fosters waiting to find their forever home. All are safe and cared for. Only one, Luna, the dilute tortie cat not pictured, passed away from inoperable cancer and another, the mama of the puppies was hit and killed by a car before I took the litter in. And a few newborn babies were lost to a very sick mama cat. But many many more survived and thrived. I have emptied my savings, and my bank account to try to help those who can never return it but with their love. I don't regret doing so. However, I am struggling now with a new hardship that I cannot overcome on my own.

I moved into a new house in August with high hopes of a great house for rescue and for me. I drained my last resources and went into debt for the cost of moving expenses, even borrowing money to make the move. But the house, I later discovered, is in very poor shape with faulty plumbing, and unsafe electrical wiring and no appropriate fencing to keep the dogs safe. In addition since moving here I have been subjected to an online stalker who posted my address publicly along with a group of women bullies determined to destroy me and any attempts I make to rescue any cat or dog. I am a reputable individual with excellent references and even an animal control officer who came over recommended I find a place better suited to do what I do where I can have more animals if I wish. But I'm tired. I need to move on. This whole venture, the house, and the efforts to destroy me, has turned into a devastating nightmare and has depleted every last cent I had. I have never been able to raise enough money to fix everything and since it is a rental with an 80 year old landlord with no money my hands are tied. I just need to move and start over again in a place that is safer for me and for my animals, the rescued ones and my own. All that said, this fundraiser is for ME! It is a new fundraiser edited from an old one (why it says 61 days) that I created and never promoted a couple of months ago. I just keep trying to make it happen on my own. But I need some help with this. Of course the animals will benefit from my efforts to move and make our lives better but this, for a change, is not about them. This is my effort to start over and do it again and do it better in a safe location where we will all be safe and where I can dig in and move my life forward.

Rescuing animals has been rewarding in seeing them alive and well. It has also been painfully difficult and very very sad to see the loss and devastation. But it's time for me to move on and do something else. A new job to support myself beyond the injuries too! The animals will be safe with me wherever I go. Some have found new homes and a couple will go to another rescue. Hopefully a couple more will find homes other than mine soon too. But I need a fresh start and I need help. I have made many efforts and been shot down by one thing or another. I keep getting back up and trying again to succeed. But I gave notice to be out of my house by the end of the year only to find I cannot come up with enough money to move. I don't feel safe here for many reasons and I need help to move to a better safer place. I just can't jump over this hump on my own right now. Please will you help me start over again?
