It has taken me 9 years, but in June 2016 will complete my BS in public health, with a minor in business, from Portland State University. What took so long? Well, during this time I completed 6 years of service as a medic in the U.S. Army National Guard, I worked full time, I went to a tech school for a year to get my certification in medical assisting, which is my current title. I work in dermatology surgery, where I assist in the removal of skin cancer and reconstruction.
During these 9 years I have seen some of my weakest points in life, such as enduring 4 years of domestic violence, but I have also seen the strongest. Like when I left him for good, picked myself back up, sought out treatment, asked for help and moved forward.
I am now fast approaching such an amazing time in life, full of such great opportunity. It's that cusp between finishing school and figuring out my career path. It's a break between commitments and a great time to go explore life. What better place to go do that than Thailand?
Prevent my future 50 year old self from a mid life crisis, help me travel to Koh Tao for 2 months to get my dive masters certification.
The idea is to die young as late as possible. Never stop dreaming.
Thank you
