This mom is blind in one eye. She had to relocated to Chicago (leaving her job) to care for her mom in hospice with brain cancer (recently deceased). She has found employment here. She's been working overtime (Saturdays & Sundays) for living expenses. And so the kids, Amari and Dan can attend their Prom (Expenses). Dan is a special need youth. She's overwhelmed, exhausted and still working. Their dad is diseased. She needs prom, graduation expenses & college send-off expenses.
Amari and Dan are very close siblings. They really want to attend their prom this month. Dan is the oldest very pleasant, helpful and witty. He has some serious health issues. A birth defect, seriously deterred the growth of his left leg. Causing limited mobility and serious health / weight issues. Dan has never been able to run, jump or participate in many physical activities. But he wants to attend his prom this month. Amari’s less than 5 ft. tall, honor student, witty and intelligent. Amari’s the big sister type. She looks out for Dan and is a big help to her mom.
They had to finish their last year in an unfamiliar school (a big sacrifice). They gave up friends and familiarity to support their mom and help with their grandmother. She didn’t want to bother anyone. She doesn’t want Amari & Dan to miss their prom nor do I. There are other expense. But, the prom is just a week away. Please help them enjoy one of the most exciting memories of their young lives. Amari’s going off to college (additional expenses) and Dan will be attending a special needs vocation school. They and I will be forever graceful to you all. Please.
Thanks.
