My name's Parker, and I'm a 23-year-old trans man. I've been binding for nearly six years, and though I've always been hesitant to ask for financial help in transitioning, my body can tell that it's time for top surgery after confining my chest for up to sixteen hours a day. My goal is to get top surgery by the end of this year! I'm in the process of waiting for loan and insurance approval, which, if approved, will cover around half of the costs.
The majority of my family does not support my gender identity, so I can't expect any financial support from them. The support I've gotten through this Plumfund has already been amazing, and I can't express how thankful I am. I've made the new goal of $2000 considering what I feel like I need in order to afford top surgery minus insurance help and the time I need to take off from work to heal from it.
My heart would be overjoyed to receive any sort of support in this. Transitional surgery has seemed unobtainable for so long that I've kept brushing the idea of it aside and tried to cope with the concept of living without it, but this is what I want more than anything I could ask for; the comfort of my body aligning with my gender identity to the benefit of my confidence, happiness, and physical health.
