Jake has Cerebral Palsy, but he doesn't let it slow him down. He is a happy-go-lucky unstoppable daredevil of a 3 year old boy.
At his young age, he has spent nearly 150 days in a hospital, has had 12 surgeries, and is currently attending physical therapy 5 days per week.
Jake had a life altering surgery called a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy in St Louis, MO on August 16th. As a result of this surgery, Dr. Park believes that Jake will eventually be able to RUN, RIDE A BIKE, and even play main stream sports. We never could've dreamed of any of these things being a possibility before SDR. This surgery though, is the reason Jake need PT 5 days per week.
His favorite form of PT is Hippotherapy, which is best described as Physical Therapy while horseback. His trusty steed is named Cakes and Jake wishes he could ride Cakes every single day. He wakes up talking about him, tells stories about him at night, draws pictures of/for him... they are best friends :)
We are fundraising to help pay for his 2 required return trips to St Louis, 1 trip to Houston for specialized physical therapy, and his required 5-days-per-week physical therapy over the next 12 months. Insurance covers their fair share, but we still pay $76 out of pocket twice a week for our visits with Cakes and as you probably know, travel isn't cheap. Plane tickets, hotel stays, and rental cars add up quick. If you can help in any way we would be truly appreciative.
Much Love, Jake & Family
