As many of you know Sammy was medivac'd to Seattle for an unknown condition. Late on Saturday the 18th she was having pain in her neck. She rapidly declined and lost movement in her limbs. She is now at Seattle Children's and they are conducting multiple tests and have some answers but also many more questions. With the cost of inpatient medical care as well as the 2 flights to get to Seattle I want to be able to help the Chase family out with the costs some.

Latest Update

I am overwhelmed with the outpouring of love that has been shown to the Chase's. Thank you tons for the support from the auction last night! Sammy has had voluntary movement in one shoulder!!!!!. Sammy has had progress everyday! Please continue to pray!

update from Donna Kay: I got to See Samantha today. The tube was removed from her mouth & moved to her nose making it possible for her to communicate by mouthing words. Now she can really sass. She isn't limited to her frequent eye rolls at her sister Cassandra. Mary G Cook & Tim Sunday showed with wishes & gifts from home. I'm amazed how thoughtful everyone is & the outpouring of love. The girls loved their memory quilts from friends put together by Pep Scott. The whole family should consider future medical careers. They all roll up their sleeves & participate in her care. Bob has got the talk down & seems to be well researched on all his daughter is going through.

The doctors determined that a strain of Enterovirus is what has caused Sammy to develop Transverse Myelitis. Please continue to pray for Sammy and that the Doctors will be able to properly treat her virus so they can tackle the TM. Cassandra said Sammy has her phone on for people to message her and Cassandra will read them to her. Thank you all for your love and support. I was very moved by the bake sale/ auction and sushi sales from today. Thank you all for the love you have shown to the family

I don't have much of an update for you as Sammy's condition hasnt changed much. Sammy is still using a breathing tube. She has undergone her first plasma exchange treatment to remove any possible infection in her blood. The doctors have been working hard to get to the root of this condition to properly treat her. Please continue to send us thoughts and prayers!

Please continue to share prayers, positive energy, and love. Sammy is suffering from inflammation of the spinal cord. The doctors don't know why she has this but she is in an amazing facility and they are taking phenomenonal care of her. She is still having difficultly with breathing but hopefully with the steroid treatments and plasma exchange there will be significant improvement soon.
