Welcome to the wild world, Simone Iseul Williams-Jung! Some of our far-flung family and friends graciously have asked how they can help with settling into our new home life with Simone remotely. Since a home cooked meal doesn't mail so well, we thought the next best thing would be a fund from which we can hire our doula, or birth helper, Darcie Black, to help us out at home on occasion. We can't sing Darcie's praises enough; she stayed with us through the two and a half day labor process, getting only a couple hours of sleep the whole time. She advised us, encouraged us, looked out for us, and generally got us through. She charges a reasonable hourly rate to cook, clean-up, run errands, and watch the baby so Ginger can take a shower or nap while Ty is at work. Any little bit of time/rest/food/help in this way would be a true godsend in these first weeks and months.
We also are using a cloth diaper service, run by a small local business, and we would like to use some funds to help with that cost.
We wish we lived closer to all of you so you could meet this little bean sooner rather than later. Trust us when we say she's the sweetest little thing you ever did behold.
With overwhelming gratitude,
Ty & Ginger
