Tyler and I are expecting our precious baby boy October 19, 2016. We are beyond excited (and of course a little nervous). My work offers 12 weeks of FMLA which is unpaid, but does not offer any type of paid leave. I had a bit of PTO saved up but had to use it after having emergency surgery at 21 weeks pregnant to remove my appendix. I will hopefully have 1-2 weeks of PTO saved up by the time he arrives but I would like to have as much time with him as possible (12 weeks).
We have money in a savings account but we are also in the process of moving from a 1-bedroom apartment to a 2-bedroom so we will have to use a large chunk of that to cover the security deposit/move-in and move-out fees/and the slight overlap of our rent (about 1 month). Tyler is in the process of looking for a better paying job but he is limited due to still going to school (~2 years he will get his degree). With just him working we would need between $800-$1000 in savings per month that I have off to make sure we can get everything paid.
As long as everything goes as planned I'm going to work up until a week before my due date (October 12) in order to save up as much as possible.
Thanks in advance! Everything helps!
