Well, he will be in January, and as we all know, if there's anything he loves more than his family, friends, or a cringeworthy joke, it's the New York Mets. He's been to plenty of games, but he's never sat behind home plate. We think it would be a once in a lifetime experience and we'd love to make it happen for his 80th. Since Florence and David moved to Laguna this year and they don't need anything for the new place, and as David has more Civil War books than most libraries, we thought - for anyone who'd like to get him a gift this year - pitching in for this Birthday fund made perfect sense. Your presence will be his present, but if you feel like adding something else, do it here!
