It’s birthday time in BellyDance Land and I come here to ask for contributions towards a dream come true. I’ll be joining Sahra Saeeda at her "Journey Through Egypt" (JtE) program this coming October for the final two courses, levels 3 & 4, which happen in Egypt!!!
This training will be an unbelievable opportunity to continue learning, to complete my certification, as well as to help me to develop and introduce new choreography and learning opportunities for the UCSB Middle East Ensemble and to my student community.
Any amount would be a great help and certainly a heartfelt birthday gift.
Thank you so much in advance!

- A Little about my Dance Journey
I began my belly dance training with Marcia from Studio Gaia in 1998, while in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After moving to the United States mid-1999, I started classes with Alexandra King and was immediately invited to join her dance company with the UCSB Middle East Ensemble (MEE).
In 2010, after returning from a performance tour with the MEE in 3 Egyptian cities (Cairo, Ismailia and Helwan) I became the director for the UCSB Dance Ensemble. In these 20 years I've had the chance to learn so much about Folkloric dance, music and some cultural aspects of the Middle East and Central Asia.
In 2017, I enrolled in "Journey Through Egypt"" (JtE), a program that provides advanced dancers and dance teachers training on the various styles of dance in Egypt with an anthropological eye, led by Sahra Saeeda. I was able to complete the first two levels in this program in Los Angeles. Now I’m looking forward to the final two courses, levels three and four, which will be taken in Egypt this October!
