Mercy Maternity Center is facing closure within 30 days unless temporary emergency operating funds are raised. This Christian charity birth center has been serving the poor in the Philippines for the past 24-years offering competent and compassionate maternal healthcare while training missionary midwives.

The clinic is predominately funded by the Philippine Government’s socialized health insurance plan which reimburses the clinic approximately US$120-$190 per delivery. However, due to the economic ramifications brought about by the COVID pandemic, the government has not been able to maintain payouts to clinics in a timely manner. Consequently, the clinic has implemented emergency cost-saving measures, but after working four months off of capital reserves, these resources will be depleted within one month. We are seeking funds to help sustain the clinic until the government reimbursements resume.
Mercy has delivered 28,000 babies in its history and the current COVID crisis has caused a 100% increase in the number of patients being served because women are afraid to deliver their babies in hospitals. More than 300 babies were born at the clinic in the past 60 days, and at least that many are due to deliver within the next 60 days.
The clinic’s operating budget is $20,000/month, which funds payroll for Filipino employees, patient transportation, medical supplies, ministry outreaches, Gospel materials, food, etc.
Please consider helping this ministry continue to serve women by contributing to and sharing this urgent need.
Thank you!
