Thank you to all those who have contributed this year and for prior KARE Trips! To have a closer look at what your gift buys for Karen students ... here's a photo from our Dec. 2016 trip to Karen State in Burma. This long tail Thai boat is loaded with boxes of pens, pencils, notebooks, copy paper, printers and much more! Two volunteer ESL teachers (Ally and Vanessa) joined us to deliver school supplies and teach English on the Thai Burma border. More than 100% of all donations go directly to the purchase of school supplies. We pay all of our own travel expenses - flights, hotel, and meals, etc. - personally. All donations made to Project KARE are used to buy the school supplies needed most by Karen people at Mae Ra Moe refugee camp and in Karen State in Burma. Thank you SO much for your continued support! We're very excited to see how many boats we will fill this year! Your friends at Project KARE

Big sister watching over infant sister in hammock at Mae Ra Moe refugee camp. This beautiful photo was taken by the winner of the Project KARE Student Photography Project, Naw Lah Klee Paw. Dec. 2016 Our first photo project was a big success last year! We're so impressed with the images so aptly captured by young student photographers, most in their first day ever using a camera. Cameras are rare in the refugee camp so it was exciting for the students to take them home overnight and photograph their family, friends and their camp community. See student photos posted often on our social media: https://www.facebook.com/ProjectKARE.org/ https://www.facebook.com/MRMRefugees/ Many thanks to all who continue to support us as we deliver school supplies and english language training at Mae Ra Moe refugee camp and Karen State in Burma. Project KARE is especially excited about this year's KARE trip. Our Co-Founder Su Baw, and her husband Lah K'Paw, will travel with us to personally deliver school supplies to the Karen people. This will be the first time they've returned home to Karen State in Myanmar since they escaped more than 20 years ago! Now that Su Baw and Lah K'Paw are US citizens they can travel freely and safely to help the Karen people. They're so excited to see family and friends they have not seen in so many years!
