Hello there!
I've set up this page to ask for your help...
And asking for help can be scary right?!
Am I asking in the right way?
Will they think I'm silly?
Will they even look at this page?
But none of that REALLY matters.
What matters is that I'm GOING. No matter what.
Because I believe in it and I know this is the start of how I will begin to make my own difference in the world.
I've been looking to go on a trip like this for many years.
And I've found an organization to do it with...
OPERATION GROUNDSWELL
https://operationgroundswell.com/
Why them?
“Unlike many large Western organizations that create and enforce development plans, we forge partnerships with local NGOs and charities to work with them on community-requested projects. We support organizations that exist before we arrive, appreciate our support during our time there, and will continue to do work long after we leave.” –Operation Groundswell
Though I will be spending solid days on the ground getting my hands dirty and volunteering, a larger chunk of our time is spent learning from the partners to better understand the underlying issues and challenges that they face!
• Heading out on July 28th 2018 and returning August 12th 2018. We will be landing in Delhi and then venturing to Rishikesh for orientation.
• We’ll engage in meaningful and thought-provoking discussions with Wahoe Education instructors who are trying to tackle the question of how modern, ancient, secular, and religious traditions fit together and inform each other.
• Parmath Niketan Ashram for a three-day exploration into how these ancient spiritual centres function today.
• Arrive in Dharamsala for a 10 km/6.2 mi climb in Mcleod Ganj at 6,830 ft.
Tibet World has built a special three-day “Compassion + Wisdom = Happiness” workshop to help us explore how Indian traditions have grown and changed in Tibet.
If you are able to donate that would be awesome ! And to show my appreciation I'll send you out a TY Beanie Baby from the 90's / early 2000's, mint condition!
Thanks a bunch!
