This March, the Working Group on North Korean Women, a working group of the North Korea Freedom Coalition, will host events in DC and New York in conjunction with International Women's Day and the UN Commission on the Status of Women. We will bring North Korean refugee women to testify about their experiences and the dire situation faced by all North Korean women refugees. Women account for more than 70% of North Korean refugees and are faced with very severe human rights violation. It is our mission to give them a voice on the international stage, and you can help!

In order to host these events, we have to buy plane tickets, pay registration fees, book hotel rooms, etc. As you can imagine, that all adds up rather quickly! And of course we want to do this at no cost to the individual refugees who are already donating their valuable time and energy. That's where you come in. With your help, we can bring these witnesses to DC and New York to tell their powerful stories. The more we raise, the bigger our events will be! Please give as much or as little as you can, every little bit helps.

Founded in 2016 by the North Korea Freedom Coalition (nkfreedom.org), the Working Group strives to raise the issues faced by North Korean women on the international stage. Each year since it was founded, the Working Group has facilitated the testimony of North Korean women refugees before the annual UN Commission on the Status of Women.

The Working on North Korean Women is chaired by Ann Buwalda, founder of the Jubilee Campaign USA which serves as treasurer of the North Korea Freedom Coalition, and Jason West, Vice Chair of the NKFC. Donations are tax-deductible to the maximum amount allowed by law. If mailing a check, please make payable to Jubilee Campaign and note "NK Women" in the memo field. Any residual funds leftover at the conclusion of these events will go toward the events of North Korea Freedom Week 2019 in Washington DC.

Latest Update

Special thanks to Scott Payne and the West Branch Bible Baptist Church in Deposit, NY. Faced with snow, ice, and wind, they still held their rummage sale today and raised $341.25 for our speaking tour! We'll be visiting their church next Saturday.
