WHAT IS SINGHS CAMP:
Singhs Camp is about bringing together Sikhs from all over North America for an indepth understanding of what Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji is teaching us.
We are a non-profit organization holding it's 7th annual Singhs Camp. The objective of this fundraiser is to help keep costs low. All money is used for Singhs Camp, Sikh Family Camp, Waterloo Sikh Youth Camp (Waterloo camp is free for all participants) and other related initiatives. There have been over 1000 unique participants that have attended these camps since 2006.
PUTTING YOUR DONATION TO WORK:
Your donation will go towards the future of the Khalsa Panth and extending the learning and love amongst Sikhs world wide. A small donation helps enhance the campers experience, allowing them to delve deeper with their understanding of Gurbani and deepen their relationship with Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Examples of where your donation will be used:
1) Rental fee for Camp site: Pearce Williams Christian Centre
2) Diwaan hall setup: Takhat and stage setup
3) Air flight tickets for speakers abroad (There are some speakers who are able to pay for their own flight and transportation to help ease our costs)
4) Langar: food and equipment costs
5) Equipment rental for activities.
6) Transportation costs for Sangat from Dixie Gurdwara
7) Props and equipment for Guest speakers
8) Help cover costs for Students who couldn't afford the fees
DOES SINGHS CAMP OR ITS ORGANIZERS TAKE A PROFIT:
There is no profit taking or sharing. There are no Administrator fees and there are no overhead fees. Aside from fees collected from participants, approximately $5000 is donated every year by individuals and companies. Services and equipment are also donated and appreciated.
SITE LOCATION:
The camp site this year is at Pearce Williams Christian Centre, which is a wonderful facility that will allow the participants to enjoy the outdoors and have a professional environment for learning and collaboration. A high end facility such as this does cost more, but the facitily is highly rated by previous attendees and they would like to see future camps be held at this site or similar sites.
CAMP SEVADAARS:
This camp is not held or organized by any established Jatha or group. This is an all-inclusive camp organized by Singhs from all parts of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's panth. We do not promote any group, or discuss politics. This camp is only for spirtual development, and as a collective, learning to serve the whole Khalsa Panth. In the eyes of our Guru all Sikhs are equal. We are humble servants of all Sikhs, our Guru and Waheguru.
