Have you ever lived paycheck to paycheck? When thinking of Boulder County residents, many people are not aware how many of us live in poverty. While the federal poverty level is $24,300 for a family of four, that same family in Boulder County requires an annual income of $86,628 to pay for health care, transportation, food, child care, housing, taxes, and the miscellaneous costs of raising a family.* When sucked into the vicious cycle of poverty, it is extremely hard to break out of it. Boulder County Circles program (501(c)(3)) is committed to helping those who are ready to pull themselves out of the poverty cycle.
Handpicked from the community and thoroughly vetted, Circle Leaders are folks committed to achieving financial security. The Circle Leaders take a 15 week course called Getting Ahead, where they identify what is keeping them in poverty and create achievable goals to get out of it. Members of the community wanting to volunteer to make a difference in people’s lives, called allies, are paired with the Circle leader to create a Circle.
Allies and Circle Leaders work extremely hard to achieve their goals. We are asking for help in making this process a little bit easier for our Circles in the program. Circles has paired up with the R12 Charities, a non-profit who provides generous and timely automotive repair and maintenance assistance for those in need. The funds we raise will all go to helping Circle Leaders keep their cars running. We thank you for assisting us in taking a step to help those in need in an impactful and successful way.
