Our bright and bubbly best friend, Liya, has been diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, or “PMBL” - a rare, but treatable blood cancer. She and her husband Ben are working with a world-class team of doctors at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC to attack the cancer head-on. The current treatment plan calls for multiple rounds of chemotherapy, beginning on February 5, 2018.
We've set up Liya's Project Happiness to collect general funds for Liya and Ben to put toward the things that they will need the most over the next several months. For example:
-$20 covers car transport to/from treatment
-$50 covers a week's worth of healthy millennial meal kits for 2
-$75 covers a solid set of comfy clothes for Liya to wear in treatment and around the apartment
-$100 covers an apartment cleaning service to keep their place hygienically sparkling
-You can also earmark contributions toward Liya's bad-ass new hair-do (since as it turns out wigs are quite expensive at $3700)
Any funds not be used to cover Liya's healthcare-related costs will be donated to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to support rare cancer research and Livestrong Foundation to support fertility preservation for cancer patients.
We appreciate your support as we send our love and prayers to Liya and her family. Thank you!
