My daughter works hard for Hot Springs, AR School District. She is administrative assistant to the superintendent. Today she was told that the $200 stipend she receives will be cancelled because the district is strapped, while refusing a merit raise, despite excellent job performance.
Mina's husband works for minimum wage, his earnings going for delinquent child support for a child conceived before they met. Mina pays all household expenses from her salary as well as paying a $500/month premium for her health insurance. They live in a 700 sf shoebox to keep rent minimal. In 2013 an ice storm caused a tree to fall and plow completely through her car, front to back. Insurance only paid off that car so we let her to borrow our 2nd car, which is now broken down. We cannot afford repairs and neither can she, so now no transportation.
Mina is 7-8 weeks pregnant, discussing with her employer today and was told that she could take the 12 weeks mandated by the FMLA but unpaid. We are searching for help in funding that period, as well as medical bills.
Mina earns $33,675.00 per year, $2,802.00/ month and $652.00/week. For 12 weeks that would amount to $7,820.00. We would like to add medical costs @ $5,000.00. Her father and I cannot help. We're both disabled (he has Multiple Sclerosis and Atherosclerosis with bypass surgery and 16 stents and I have extreme back pain). We are mid 60's and cannot work.
Mina (33) suffers from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and severe Restrictive Airway Disease, as well as a non working thyroid. She was told PCOS would prevent her from getting pregnant at all so this pregnancy is nothing short of a miracle. Please consider helping us? It would be so appreciated. Please help us all bring this miracle to fruition. Please!!!!
