My wife and I, were married on June 3rd 2017, a little over a month and a half ago. We met through work, she had a position as a front desk associate and I was working as the overnight auditor for the valet operation. Our love blossomed and bloomed quickly, after a year of dating we got engaged. She came to America on a J-1 visa, which is a working/continuing education visa, which was good for 1 year. We have been aware of this and have been preparing for it. We hired an immigration lawyer to assist us with all of the paperwork because it is such a long and tedious process, we have heard some horror stories from other couples who did all of the paperwork themselves and we did not want to risk it. When we initially met with the lawyer he told us that he would file a motion on our behalf extending Kayvee's visa for 6 months, granting us more time to get the money together for the government application fee ($1,760.00, just to apply, does not guarantee anything!!) plus the lawyers fee of an additional $1,500.
Kayvee and I are both very hard workers, we have to be literally half dead to call off of work and even then if medicine is available we will take that and head into work. We have been saving up, although we were just married and paid for a majority of everything ourselves (my mom and dad helped us out tremendously by allowing us to use their yard and supplying all of the food, not to mention all of their patience with my bridezilla, referring to myself not Kayvee, haha I was soooo stressed).
SOOOO LONG STORY SHORT!
Kayvee was called into the HR office today at her newly acquired job and informed that she has 10 days, beginning today, to show a receipt stating that all of her change of name, address, martial status, green card eligibility, etc. must be completed and paid for or else she will be terminated from her job. We have been saving, but we also have a decent amount of bills due each month (car payment, insurance, rent, food, cell phone, etc usual life expenses) so the amount of money we have squirrelled away comes nowhere near what we need for the application fee.
I am starting this page because:
#1 I am so absolutely in love with my wife I will do anything to keep her here and make her happy
#2 after this tomorrow (Thursday 07/20/17) she will be taken off of her work schedule and no longer allowed to work until her company receives the necessary receipts/paperwork
#3 I learned firsthand the generosity of people when I had cancer and I began a GoFundMe page and met the goal in under a month of starting the page. I am reaching out to the world today, asking once more to please help me keep my beloved wife in the country. I am so afraid that she will be sent back to the Philippines and then because of new laws and restrictions, not allowed back in. I love Kayvee so very much and I never imagined I would be blessed with such a wonderful love, such an incredible woman, friend, companion. I am asking you, all of you, for any help you can give, any help at all. More importantly, if you are fortunate enough to have a loved one nearby and you are arguing or having stupid disagreements, LET IT GO! GRAB THEM! KISS THEM! HUG THEM! HOLD THEM! because a time is coming when they will not always be there to be held by you, to be kissed by you, to hear your voice proclaiming your love for them. Please, please, please, cherish your loved ones. Do not hesitate to show your love for those you hold dear. After all, LOVE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL!!!
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and whether or not you are able to help my little family out, on our behalf please do something kind for one that you love. Call your mother and let her talk your ear off, text that quarrelsome sibling, because believe me life is so unpredictable. We just never know what's coming, all we can say for sure is that we have right here, right now. This moment. Seize it. Drag every experience you can out of it. Love life and all of those you have been blessed to call family, every second of every day. Love is the most beautiful thing we can experience as humans, please, please, please, never forget to show your love. LOVE IS A VERB!!
