It's taking a lot out of me to adk for help but I am in dire straits. I work for Amazon but I injured myself on the job and began my medical leave on 09/07. I never hurt myself on a job before but my doctor suggested fot me to go thru my employer to start the workers comp claim. I had to go see their doctor, long story short their doctor didn't even examine me, I spent more time speaking with nurse about my medical history than anything. He basically repeated what my doctor stated that I have carpal tunnel in both of my hands and some additonal nerve damage. When I explained the numbness and pain in my left foot he waved that off said it was a separate issue which contradicts what my doctor said. So of coursr my workers comp claim was denied so im going thru my doctor to get treatment. So I did get approved for short term disability which is 60% of my base rate which is at 12.00 hr. Im going to receive my first check this week which is less than $400. Depending on what the orthopedic surgeon does once I go see him this month I may very well be out longer. It's only me, both of my parents are deceased my other family are financially unable to help me since they are retired and on a fixed income. I'm the type of person where I do for myself but it has gotten very hard with the price of utilities being so high and playing catch up on a debt my late father left for me...back rent. My landlord has been very understanding but he's like any budinessman he wants his money. Irregardless I've been his longest tenant over 23 years but I would really like to get him caught up as well if thats possible.
I thank you for your time.
