Hi, My name is Matthew Bohannon I am 25 years old. I have not been living life on gods terms prior to May 24th, 2016. I am a recovering addict/alcoholic. I've struggled with addiction since I was a young child just in different ways, but it was because I was not comfortable with my own skin!! I grew up in Massachuessts and in December 2011 I had enough of the struggles and checked Into treatment in Deerfield Beach Florida. I gained 3 1/2 years of sobriety while in Florida until I faced some difficult traumas with my husband that were unbearable emotionally. I disconnected from God, friends, and my family and decided to fill the void in my heart with drugs and alcohol instead of God. On May 24th, 2016 I finally surrendered every aspect of myself to my God and the problem of Alcoholics Anonymous. I checked into an intensive 12 step spiritual boot camp paid for via scholarship. I took on a leadership role in the house and helped any new guy that was coming in. After care was next and I didn't have many options, I was divorcing my husband, lost my job, my apartment, all finances, and of course the trust of my friends and family. The owners of the treatment facility stuck their heads out for me and got me a scholarship for my first month of sober living in Portland, Maine. So here I am 43 days sober, living in a new place with not much. I have applied for 27 jobs as of today and spend my day going to meetings and at the recovery center looking for work. I've applied for food assistance with the state of Maine but that can take months, and I need to get some warmer clothes. I know that people may not be able to do much but anything is great for now!! God has blessed me and put me exactly where I need to be!!! I appreciate you all! If you want to know more feel free to email me at... Matthew.p.bohannon@gmail.com
