If you are looking at this page right now, it is because you care about little ol' me. I want to thank each one of you for helping me get to where I am now; whether that was something as simple as offering an ear for me to vent to at one time or another, or helping me jump my car! I have been working hard to become the artist and graduate that I am today! (Sorry if that has kept me from saying hello in awhile!) Now that I have graduated, I do not have access to editing programs any longer. In order for me to animate, edit, and create work for myself and others independently, I need your help in gathering the tools that I need: A laptop with the ability to carry Adobe Creative Cloud is my key to becoming a freelance artist and bringing my ideas and projects to fruition!
I have a few big projects coming up in the next year that would be aided greatly with your donations. Let me tell you about them!
For the months of June and July I will be living in Iceland! I will be joining someone very special to me, Jeff Mertz, in shooting his feature documentary there. We will be speaking to the Icelandic people of Skagaströnd and other cities, focusing on stories of their young people, youth culture, and coming-of-age experiences.
In those following fall months I will be joining a group of talented artists in canoeing down the Mississippi River to shoot a music documentary that studies the ethnomusicology of the people living along the river.
Along with these great opportunities, I will be continuing my work on developing a children's television program. This is a long-term passion project of mine. It follows an animated cast of three sweet kids and their mentor, Astronaut Mom, as they join forces to show there three alien best buds how to be loving, creative, and open-minded individuals on Earth. There is also an aspect of multi-media video work to the program. Similar to the format of Sesame Street, Astronaut Mom will spend most of the episodes presenting one to two minute segments that use puppetry, live-action studio work, and documentary based portions to deliver lessons and abstract antidotes to the kids, aliens, and audience. I have already begun production for a fifteen minute pilot sample, but I plan on continuing to shoot periodically over the next year or so! A great portion of the pilot will be animated. In order to see a cute bunny tell a story about there best friend and create a crazy dance party for the kids and aliens, I will need access to Adobe After Effects.
I can't wait to share these projects with all of you!
Thank you for showing interest and I appreciate any penny that you feel comfortable giving!
