The Goal:
Our daughter has set a goal of completing her culinary degree debt-free and with your help this dream can be achieved. She has qualified for various scholarships but your monetary gift would be a tremendous blessing to be used for her college education. Nekijalyn has been an Honor Roll student during the entire duration of her academic career and has maintained a 3.48 GPA in Honor courses throughout High School. She scored above-average on both her SAT and ACT.
Extracurricular Achievements:
When Nekijalyn was just a sophomore, she and her siblings joined C.H.A.R.G.E Speech and Debate team and at the first competition Nekijalyn placed in her event where she competed against Juniors and Seniors. That was just the beginning of the many more awards she received that year in Speech & Debate. She has had a love for violin since she picked it up in the 4th Grade. She ran track for two years (AAU and IHSA) of her high school career, where she holds medals in mid-distance and relay events. We believe the most exciting and rewarding extracurricular activity that Nekijalyn has taken place in, without a doubt, is the Naper Valley Science Olympiad Team (Sophomore year-Senior year). She has been awarded numerous medals, including winning three years in a row at the Regional level. Those feats did not come without hours upon hours of study with and without her partners.
Volunteerism:
When she isn't in school (homeschool that is) much of her downtime was spent either studying for Science competitions, reading books for enjoyment, or creating a savory dish in the family kitchen. In addition to her already full-schedule, she found time to volunteer regularly for The Center, which is a Joliet-based youth center. There she serves as media and technology support, editing, and serving in other areas as needed and when she can. At The Center, she currently holds the position of student leader. She has also embarked on mission trips within the United States. Anyone who knows Nekijalyn knows that she loves to serve others.
The Future:
She envisions a future where she will be unconstrained with debt to build one of the largest companies within the culinary industry and serve people in need.
As she works toward completing her culinary degree, she will work as a freelance editor and continuing serving in her position of Student Leader with The Center.
How You Can Help:
So as you pray about how you can be a blessing to her in these next steps please keep in mind that your financial gift will not only be helping her educational goals but you can rest assured knowing that Nekijalyn will work passionately in her career and ministry of serving others. And you took the opportunity to play an integral role in the journey. We believe that God will grant her the desires of her heart because her desire is to please Him more than anything. We thank and appreciate you in advance for your contribution to our dear Nekijalyn's next steps.
