I owe approximately $100,000.00 in hospital and doctor bills. I spent 8 years suffering through a journey with infertility and trying various treatments. The bills are not from that though. My journey officially ebbed with a hysterectomy due to hemorrhaging and my Dr fearing I had cancer. Then 3 months after that I had emergency neck surgery and have a spinal cord injury from that time. Two months after that I contacted a severe strep infection in my blood stream and came very close to death. Throughout all of this there were several hospital stays, ER visits, ambulance ride, PT, tons of tests, many different Drs. Our savings and medical benefits on my crappy insurance were already depleted from the years of trying to conceive. Even after discounts I still owe about $100,000.00 and I haven't been able to work in 2 years since this started with my neck. I am trying to get on disability, but it's a long, difficult process.
