This donation account has been created for Jim and Etta Mae Rone, please take a few minutes of your time to read their story:

On Friday, October 11th, Jim was taken to the hospital around 8pm. He had been having severe stomach pains and by the time family members arrived to take him, he was to the point he could no longer walk and had to be carried out to the car. They rushed him to the Paragould, AR hospital and the medical staff their had determined they weren't going to be able to get his vitals stable, at this point, his blood pressure was about 78/43. They called other hospitals in the area, none of which had the equipment to be able to stabalize him so they put him in an ambulance and rushed him to Memphis, TN.

Once he reached Memphis, the family was called in around 2:30am as doctors didn't think he was going to make it, and at that point, verbalized that they would try to keep him stable long enough for the family to get there and see him one last time. At that point, we had everyone we could think of to start praying for him. It was obvious that he was going to have to have surgery, they were just waiting on a room to come open. He was finally able to go into surgery early that Saturday morning and while they were in there, the doctor's had discovered that his colon had ruptured and they had to remove 2/3 of it. Once his surgery was over with the doctors told the family that he wouldn't have made it had he not had that surgery--it saved his life.

Today, Sunday, October 26th marks two weeks that he has been in the hospital, still in ICU. He's had other surgeries and he's had several tests ran on him. He's had a tracheostomy and he's hooked up to a breathing machine, he has a feeding tube in his nose and they were just finally able to remove his PICC line and put a regular IV in-- since having the tracheostomy he's been unable to wake up or respond to any commands and he has a slight infection in his body, that seems to be clearning up with antibiotics, but he still has a long ways to go. He's constantly having medication pumped into him and where they cut his stomach open is still open so his wound can heal from the inside out. The doctors say it will be a while, but once he's able to be released from this hospital he will then have to be transfered to a rehabilitation facility with no idea how long he will remain there.

During these past 2 weeks, and until he is better, his wife has been by his side-- leaving her home and staying at a nearby hotel so she's able to see him every day. His children, grandchildren and friends of the family have made several trips to stay by his side and make sure that he pulls out of this. Everyone has been so faithful and supportive during this time-- and this account is being created to help support his wife as she stays by his side until he is better: all funds will go to hotel costs, food costs, medical bills and will help pay their bills at home while Jim is in recovery and until he's able to get home and back on his feet.

If you are unable to donate, that's okay, the family asks that you say a prayer for a quick recovery.
