Little Skylee was born 11 weeks early in January 2014, emergency c-section. Weighing a small 2 lbs 11 ounces. She was life-flighted to another hospital within the first hour she was born, and they we're equipped with a NICU. Mom had to stay behind the first 2 excruciating days recovering from her surgery. After that she was wheeled into her baby's room. The first week they learned little Skylee had level 3 brain bleeds, they wanted to see if she'd come out of it and clear the ventricles. When they finally decided she needed help getting the fluid out of the brain she got her first surgery to get a reservoir. She eventually had to get transferred again to another hospital so she could get more surgery's. In her 101 day NICU stay she had 3 surgery's. The day they got to take her home was the best day ever. Little did they know 10 days later little Skylee had to return to the PICU because her shunt got an infection, which resulted in another 2 weeks. In the last 19 months of Skylees life, her mom quit her job, her dad missed a lot of work and she was denied medicaid, chip and social security. Between dad's jobs Skylee had no insurance and had a lot of medical needs. Even with insurance now it is little coverage and they owe a lot of money. Skylee having Hydrocephalus and a Shunt means a lot of medical help. They need your help so they can help her.
