Bonnie, AKA Bunny to those who love her, is a 100% Disabled Veteran, and single parent, whose permanent issues include C-PTSD and TBI. It has been highly recommended that Bunny have a Service Dog to help support recovery beyond what therapy and medications have been able to provide. In an act of exceptional generosity, an extremely talented and experienced Service Dog trainer has offered to donate their services for one-on-one private training.
The dog pictured is Killian, who has been identified as an ideal match for Bunny’s needs. Because he is a privately owned dog, there are costs involved with acquiring him, the gear, and completing the necessary certifications and registrations required to legally operate as a service dog. This fundraiser is to cover all anticipated costs and services that have not already been donated, as well as the processing fee for using this site.
If the goal is met within the next two weeks, Killian will be able to become Bunny’s partner as soon as the beginning of August. This life-changing opportunity can cost $20,000-$40,000 through many organizations, and the waitlists can cause a Veteran to go months or years before being matched with a dog. Bunny is extremely shy about asking for this help, because they are normally the one helping others. They have actually put off seeking a service dog for several years, because they felt that others had greater needs to be met first. Please consider donating, because Bunny needs a solid reminder that they deserve help, and they deserve the support and freedom that Killian will provide.
