Dear Friends,
Coco is an 8 year old Miniature Dachshund and my very best friend in the whole world. A few days ago she had a traumatic slip that happened while playing ball which immediately left her in severe pain and a paralyzed hind end. The only option for her was immediate surgery to relieve pressure on her spinal cord. While it is too soon to tell if she will walk again, the Veterinarians are hopeful. She is currently in ICU and under constant care. There is a long road ahead starting with medication and rest, then rehabilitation and physical therapy. Every day she spends in ICU the fees climb. If you have pets you know how difficult it is when something like this happens to make the best decisions to ensure the best quality of life. I was there when she was born and we have been constant companions every day since. She has a brother named Corky who is 4 hours younger than she is. They have never been been apart for more than a day and he is very sad she is not home. March 8, 2016 we lost their mother Brandi at 13 years old and that was quite traumatic for all of us. I can't and won't give up on helping Coco recover and lead a happy and satisfying life. I know she will walk again. Your help will go to the very expensive bills associated with her recovery and rehabilitation. I will continue to make updates to Coco's recovery journey. Thank you so much!
