Bianca is a horse who was starved and abandoned. She was rescued by the South Florida SPCA. In Aug 2016 she was adopted & came to my barn for boarding. After 2 months, Bianca's adopter decided to return Bianca to the rescue due to her busy schedule. I am fundraising for the care and maintenance of Bianca so she can stay at my barn through 3/31/17 or until she finds a forever home so I can continue her training while trying to find her a permanent and stable adoption. Unused funds will be donated to the SFSPCA or will be used to care for another rescue horse. Thank you!

  • Adrianna Cruz7 years ago I hope you can keep her longer than just til the 27th but if you can't, you've really done a lot and made her more adoptable and at least she will be safe and cared for at the SPCA. I admire what you are doing. This is the type of "charity" I prefer to give money to... a person making a difference. Thank you.

Latest Update

Bianca update: Bianca hasn't found a home yet. Her training is moving along beautifully and she is learning to relax and be a horse again. I have had a few calls and at least 1 person is visiting her this weekend as a result of the new flyer and the amazing photos taken by Paul Daniel Gold - professional equine photographer and artist. I plan to keep Bianca as long as I financially can so I am making another PlumFund request for nearly $500 to cover March board at $150, the next Davie Feed hay & supplies bill up to $250 and she is due for the vet for her Coggins. Please keep sharing the PlumFund page and tell everyone about Bianca needing a home! Thank you!

Bianca is still seeking her forever home! A kind person has contributed to her care and asked that I keep her into February. She feels Bianca will find her home on Valentines Day. Let's make that happen! Please keep spreading the word. At this moment Bianca's bills are $274 more than the amount I that has been contributed so contributions are still greatly appreciated! I hope a photographer friend will visit tomorrow to take some photos that will make Bianca look fabulous and then everyone will want her. To visit Bianca contact shelley@lunaslegacyranch.com Thank you!

Bianca update: Someone has generously contributed to Bianca's care so she can stay at the barn through the end of February. She feels someone will want her for Valentine's Day! Wouldn't that be awesome? I worked with her and rode yesterday but it was a little step back. Friday was so calm and nice but Sunday was back to the herd-bound nervous mare. I felt it on the ground and it continued in the saddle but she calmed after about 10 minutes. A friend took videos. I will share them soon. Please keep spreading the word. Bianca needs a loving forever home soon! shelley@lunaslegacyranch.com for more info

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays. Thanks to your generous contributions, Bianca has been doing well but time is running out. I will keep the fundraising for Bianca's care open through 1/27/17. If she does not have a new adopter by then, she will return to the South Florida SPCA where hopefully they will be able to find her a home soon. So please keep spreading the word. Bianca deserves a loving home and a person of her own. Refer any inquiries to shelley@lunaslegacyranch.com. Thank you!

Bianca update: A very generous person has offered to cover Bianca's minimum expenses for January to extend her training. She has been behaving very nicely and in each session she shows progress. I am still fundraising for Dec. and hoping for $280 for last feed bill and a dentist visit. But I am carefully considering the options. It may be best to return her to the rescue by the end of December. Next week I will have some extra time and will work with her more. If I decide to send her back soon, at least I will give her as much as possible for the best chance at finding a great person and permanent home.

Bianca - a rescue horse available for adoption from the South Florida SPCA and currently at Luna's Legacy Ranch in SW Ranches. Did groundwork this weekend. No riding because she had a massage/body work today. Thank you Lois for donating your time for her! She needs a couple more sessions to see if her lower back and hind end can loosen up. All that tension doesn't provide a nice ride for horse or rider. Some less than human definitely created that problem. Hopefully we can help her feel more relaxed through massage and proper handling. Still seeking an adopter for Bianca and more financial contribution to pay the next feed bill. shelley@lunaslegacyranch.com

Thank you all for your contributions so far! Here is an expense sheet. You have all contributed enough for her care in Oct & Nov. By the end of the month more supplies and December board will be needed. Bianca currently has a credit of nearly $100. I have calculated that another $350 will be needed for the next supplies order and to get us into December. These expenses are the bare minimum to give her quality care. Hopefully someone will adopt her who can afford to give her more than the bare minimum! To contribute to Bianca's care until she finds her forever home please visit https://www.plumfund.com/pet-fund/sponsor-a-rescue-horse-bianca. Thank you!

Hi Shelly I live in Arcadia , I am looking for my last Paso fino, but need a safe sound paso, because I just turned 70 and I am not liking rough rides anymore. I would love to see her, and see what you think of her and I. 863-558-2211 Thank you Shelly

Bianca is doing very well! I rode her for the first time this weekend. She was nervous but very good. I posted videos on my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/LunasLegacyRanch.

Pretty Bianca still needs an adopter. We did some groundwork today. She has been here for 2 months. Every day she improves. She is skittish but easy to handle on the ground. She apparently didn't know what a fly mask was and the Velcro noise would send her flying. Today she lowers her head and waits for it to be put on. She is learning to stand at liberty at the wash rack. She handles water and fly spray well. She is fairly good with saddling and standing at the mounting block but needs some more work at standing still. That's where we are now working up to riding which should be nice and uneventful by the time we get there. Someone is going to love this horse! For an appointment to visit her contact shelley@lunaslegacyranch.com.

I only had a few minutes to work with Bianca today before a really bad storm moved in. I really love this mare and hope she finds a new person who will be patient and kind to her. It's obvious that she has previously been handled roughly and it will take some time for her to trust again. But every day she makes progress and she is willing to please. Please keep spreading the word. Bianca needs some financial support to stay at my barn to continue her training and she needs a new adopter who will love her as she deserves! To visit Bianca please contact shelley@lunaslegacyranch.com.

Bianca needs a new home! She is a large Paso Fino mare with a beautifully smooth gait. She will require TLC as it seems she was previously handled abusively but with consistent and calm handling, she comes around nicely. She can be ridden but will require an intermediate to advanced rider. Any adoptions must be approved by The South Florida SPCA. For an appointment to visit Bianca please contact shelley@lunaslegacyranch.com.

It costs at least $700 per month to maintain a horse at my barn. Funds raised will help cover: barn board, hay, forage pellets, supplements, hoof trims, wormers, sand clear and medical care, if needed. In addition, I will continue to train Bianca to help her have the best chance at finding a permanent home. Any unused funds will be donated to the South Florida SPCA or will be used for the care of another rescue horse.

Bianca is a rescue horse who was starved and abandoned. She was rescued by the South Florida SPCA. In August 2016 she was adopted and brought to my barn for boarding. Bianca's adopter has a busy schedule and feels it is not fair to have a horse that she does not have time for. She wants to return her to the rescue. I am starting this fundraiser to obtain the funds to keep Bianca at my barn through the end of the year or until we find a new forever home for her. I hope to find an adopter who will keep her at my barn as she is part of our herd and bonded to one of our horses.
