Two weeks ago I was lucky enough to add to my life the angsty, adorable little ball of quills. While the little 2~ year old girl appears to be in pretty good health she does have substantially itchy skin which could indicate mites or even a bacterial or fungal infection. Things haven't gotten too bad but I'd like to get her into the vet asap.

Normally I'd treat her for dry skin while I wait for my check to arrive, but it may take longer than expected.

Latest Update

Once again, I want to thank everyone for your wonderful generosity helping Twinkie get the care she needs. As suspected, changes in disability status has delayed payment on my only source of income. I was hoping to get Twinkie in for a checkup next week but the date may be pushed back by several weeks now. On the plus side Twinkie has received the donation of an initial dose of Revolution and is scratching much less; I've also found far fewer quills in her cage when cleaning up. I'm still waiting on my order for more Revolution to arrive in the next few weeks. She'll still need 1-2 boosters and all of her laundry and accessories thoroughly cleaned to prevent reinfection or the infection of the baby boy that'll be joining our family next month. Should donated funds exceed Twinkie's needs the rest will be put towards supplies and insurance for her brother as well as a combined savings account for any future vet bills not covered by insurance. Thank you again to everyone who's helped!!

First Last (Not First? Sign Out)

Thanks to everyone who's helped out so far! I've been able to order her some meds that will arrive in a few weeks and might even have a medication donation that will arrive much sooner. Unfortunately the poor little girl is so itchy she's scratched a bald spot in her quills. I'll be calling to get a pet insurance quote in a few minutes and calling the vet tomorrow to get an estimate for the cost of a visit. If the meds arrive and work I may even be able to shut this down early and wait for pet insurance to cover her visit. It's sad that her previous owner decided to get rid of her rather than help her, but I'm glad she made it here to me and will start to get better soon with all your help!
