Greetings from the Van Patters! At the end of May 2013, our son Watts was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Since then, we've spent nearly 100 days/nights in the hospital (Brenner Children's in Winston Salem, NC) as Watts receives aggressive chemotherapy. Lots of folks– especially those who don't live nearby– have asked how they can help us during this time. One very practical way is to contribute to a fund we've set up for Watts' medical expenses. The hospital and pharmacy bills ad up quickly, so all of the money raised will be used directly to help pay for Watts' treatment, which will continue for several more years.
We are so thankful for all the love and support we've felt during this season of struggle for our family. The weekend that Watts' was diagnosed we started keeping a blog, hoping that it would serve as both a source of updates and a testimony to the goodness of God, even in painful and unexplainable circumstances.
